Close Your Eyes, Trust In Me? What You Should Know About the Snake Kaa

Even if hypnosis doesn’t always work – Kaa fascinates! The snake from THE JUNGLE BOOK is certainly the most well-known python ever. But what about Kaa is a biological fact, and what is pure fiction? If he could knot, would he have to fear the tiger, are his slings a good place to sleep? The biologist and snake expert Sebastian Lotzkat from the Stuttgart Natural History Museum gets to the bottom of these and other questions.

THE JUNGLE BOOK
The Jungle Book. USA 1967 D: Wolfgang Reitherman. German language version.

By far the most successful Disney film of all time, THE JUNGLE BOOK  has attracted over 20 million viewers to the cinema in Germany alone. The German version of the movie also owes this sensational success to its dubbing director Heinrich Riethmüller, who wrote the German lyrics and also took over the musical direction.

The exhibition The Sound of Disney. 1928-1967

Our special exhibition The Sound of Disney. 1928-1967 presents the sound world of Disney classics from August 7, 2020, through January 10, 2021. The exhibition explores the use of music, sounds and dialogues in the original films as well as in the various dubbed versions. It focuses on the period from the short Mickey Mouse cartoons and films from the popular SILLY SYMPHONIES series from the 1920s and 30s to the feature-length masterpieces created during Walt Disney’s lifetime (1901 – 1966): from SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS (US 1937) to THE JUNGLE BOOK (US 1967).
