GOLDEN TWENTIES
Night of the Museums at DFF
Night of the Museums at DFF
On the occasion of the Night of the Museums and in connection with the DFF’s current special exhibition WEIMAR WEIBLICH. Women and Gender Diversity in Weimar Cinema (1918 – 1933) , the DFF brings the 1920s back to life: Crash courses in various dance styles, music, exhibition tours and films turn the night into a moving time travel into the Weimar Republic.
The foyer of the museum will be transformed into a dance floor where guests can try their hand at Lindy Hop, Charleston, and Swing with the Monika Bauer Dance School. The electro swing DJ Timcat and his guests will combine the melodies and sounds of the swing era with modern beats. Every hour, visitors can take short guided tours to explore the exhibitions. The cinema presents a short film program with documentaries, feature films, commercials and animations from the DFF archive, inviting night owls for a short or longer stay in the cinema seat. The Bluebox transports visitors to 1920s movie sets, and they can take home a souvenir photo of their journey.
Snacks and drinks are available at the Museum Café Studio DFF .
