ABOUT US

The DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum is a unique place for people interested in culture and cineastes from all walks of life. It offers an extensive program with exhibitions, film series and numerous projects to strengthen the cultural and social significance of film on a German and European level. In order to maintain its ambitious program, the DFF needs friends who are actively involved, provide financial support and volunteer their time.

More than 300 film enthusiasts have joined the friends of the DFF association. With their annual contributions they have enabled us to purchase valuable exhibits and collections and they have supported the “Carte Blanche” film series that invites filmmakers and actors to curate their own film series. The friends take an active part in what goes on at the DFF. They visit the exhibitions together with the curators, meet for a cinema regulars’ table in the film café, get special tours through our archives and organize excursions to film-related destinations.

Our friends benefit from reduced admission to the cinema, free admission to the exhibitions and other advantages.
