The library of the DFF is located in the German National Library in Frankfurt. DFF’s library holds more than 80,000 publications on the history and theory of film, genres and motifs, film industry and technology, as well as film novels and published screenplays. The collection also contains so-called grey literature: publications that have not appeared in bookshops, such as materials for film festivals, exhibition catalogues or theses. Unique is our historical collection of
film books and film brochures since 1897 as well as on the prehistory of film.
The DFF library is a refernce library, therefore books and other materials are available for on-site research only.
