Teenager Michel, raised in a conservative family, has never been able to assert himself. To prove he can act like a “real man,” he fights alongside an armed group in the Lebanese civil war before emigrating to Spain. There he becomes Miguel and tries to break away from his former life through debauchery. Three decades later, Miguel feels ready to confront the ghosts of his past.

Eliane Raheb’s documentary combines animation, theater and archival footage and won the 2021 Berlinale Teddy Award.
