Film Talk with Robert Beavers

FILMS BY UTE AURAND AND ROBERT BEAVERS

Robert Beavers in conversation with Björn Schmitt

DFF cinema, 14.09.2019

Two of the most renowned contemporary experimental filmmakers visited the DFF cinema to present some of their films. Beavers’ RUSKIN roams London, the Alps and Venice with a keen eye for the enigmatic, for architecture and water, approaching the thinking of the art historian John Ruskin. The starting point of THE SUPPLIANT is a Greek statue that Beavers created in a friend’s apartment. LISTENING TO THE SPACE IN MY ROOM documents the montage work on THE SUPPLIANT and is at the same time an exploration of a certain place and its people.
