The Animation Workshop is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of stop-motion animation. It begins with the screening of a short stop-motion animation film to spark inspiration. The workshop then delves into the mechanics of the animation table and guides students in creating a dynamic animated film using a variety of materials. These materials, such as seashells, rocks, or buttons, are transformed into unexpected movie stars. Participants manipulate these elements on the animation table to create the illusion of movement, capturing each arrangement with photographs during moments of stillness. These individual photographs are then assembled into a film, accompanied by music, resulting in both imaginative and abstract films, as well as concise narrative storytelling.
Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours
