YOU GO TO MY HEAD could be described as a chamber play, but the chamber in which it unfolds is the vast expanse of the Sahara desert. A young woman has a car accident in the desert and loses her memory. Jake, an architect, takes her to his house, a fascinating minimalist structure (the “Fobe House”, designed by the French architect Guilhem Eustache) and claims to be her husband. An unusual love story unfolds. Reminiscent of both LOST HIGHWAY (1997) and VERTIGO (1958), the film thrives on its hypnotic, highly stylised visuals and the restrained yet intense performances of its two leads, Delfine Bafort and Svetozar Cvetkovic. As part of the event series “Constructed Dreams – Deconstructed Identity”, the DFF presents both of Dimitri de Clercq’s feature films. The Belgian-born filmmaker grew up in the Middle East, studied film direction in New York and works as a producer and director.
