After 40 years of marriage, Fiorella decides to leave her husband to escape domestic violence and oppression. Her daughter Valentina accompanies her with her camera on this complex journey, which first takes her to Berlin and then back to Italy. With a ruthlessly honest look, she documents Fiorella’s attempt to break out of the patriarchal structures of her family and her environment, and also shows the lack of understanding she is sometimes confronted with.
