Two of the most renowned contemporary experimental filmmakers will be our guests at the DFF cinema on Saturday, 14 September to present some of their films and again on Sunday, 15 September in our Cinema for Children series “Großes Kino, Kleines Kino”.
FILMS BY ROBERT BEAVERS
RUSKIN roams London, the Alps and Venice with an eye for the enigmatic, for architecture and water, approximating the thinking of the art historian John Ruskin. The starting point of the study THE SUPPLIANT is a Greek statue that Beavers made in a friend’s apartment. LISTENING TO THE SPACE IN MY ROOM documents the montage work on THE SUPPLIANT and at the same time the exploration of a certain place and its people.

They are private gestures that arouse my attention[…]” (Ute Aurand)
