DIE KEUSCHE SUSANNE

DIE KEUSCHE SUSANNE

DE 1926. Dir: Richard Eichberg. Cast: Ruth Weyher, Willy Fritsch, Lilian Harvey. 122 Min.

The sassy Susanne leads an exciting double life between her hometown and Paris: in the provincial town, she is considered the always virtuous and down-to-earth girl, while in the cosmopolitan city, to which she always escapes, she is the queen of the night, glamorous and seductive, desired by many men. In Paris, she meets René and begins to court him, but she has a noble rival: Jacqueline. An exciting love triangle starts, complicated by the interventions of uncomprehending moralists. The story comes to a fitting end at the Moulin Rouge.

Based on the operetta of the same name by Jean Gilbert.
