Twin Cities Lyon – Frankfurt
Lyon is the oldest twin city of Frankfurt. The two cities’ partnership dates back to October 15, 1960, when the signing of the agreement set an example for Franco-German rapprochement after the Second World War. Frankfurt and Lyon will celebrate the longstanding partnership with a film evening in both cities.
On Wednesday, Nov. 2, 7:30 PM the celebrations start at DFF with a reception, followed at 8:15 PM by the screening of L’HORLOGER DE SAINT-PAUL by Lyon-born director Bernand Tavernier. Patrons have the possibility to win a train ticket to Lyon in a raffle.
The DFF also dedicates a small film series to Betrand Tavernier. Find more information here.

Der Krimi L’HORLOGER DE SAINT PAUL ist die Verfilmung eines Romans von Georges Simenon und Bertrand Taverniers erster Film. Er erzählt von einem Uhrmacher in Lyon, der, von seiner Frau verlassen, seinen Sohn allein großzieht. Dann erfährt er, dass dieser einen Mord begangen haben soll und versucht, die Tat zu verstehen. Der einminütige Film Vorfilm der Filmpioniere Lumière stammt aus dem Geburtsjahr des Kinos.
Unter den Kinobesucher:innen wird eine Bahnfahrt nach Lyon verlost.
