Disney is not just a name. It is also a global brand and the largest entertainment media company. Film students Isadora Paiva, Moritz Hingott and Gabriel Häusler, who completed the seminar “21st Century Disney” with Prof. Dr. Vinzenz Hediger in the winter semester 2019/2020, will tell entertaining stories about the corporate development of the Disney Studios with opportunities for questions and discussion with the audience.

Circus elephant Dumbo and son of Miss Jumbo gets his name because of his oversized ears. However, while they are annoying, they also give the little elephant a unique talent: Dumbo can fly! In the ring he performs breathtaking feats alongside the clowns and becomes a permanent member with his own acts. He finds a friend in the circus mouse Timotheus… We present a historical and authentic Technicolor print in the rarely seen German first dubbed version.

The exhibition The Sound of Disney. 1928-1967
Our special exhibition The Sound of Disney. 1928-1967 presents the sound world of Disney classics from August 7, 2020, through January 10, 2021. The exhibition explores the use of music, sounds and dialogues in the original films as well as in the various dubbed versions. It focuses on the period from the short Mickey Mouse cartoons and films from the popular SILLY SYMPHONIES series from the 1920s and 30s to the feature-length masterpieces created during Walt Disney’s lifetime (1901 – 1966): from SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS (US 1937) to THE JUNGLE BOOK (US 1967).
