JE T’AIME, JE T’AIME
As part of a scientific experiment, a young man travels one year into the past and relives the story of an unhappy love. Alain Resnais’ film revolves around the connections between time, consciousness and memory as well as around the cinematic structures in which these interactions are suspended. Similar to Chris Marker’s LA JETÉE, the science fiction and time travel elements serve as the starting point for a tragic and multi-layered exploration of memory.
